Several I know swear by the plug it in every time you park it theory, a couple still have original batteries in their 04 and 06 bikes. you be the judge
Sold my 04 Sporty in 2011, always on "Battery Tender Jr." when not in use, still had original battery when sold.
You were right. The one on the bike was a little bigger, but the contacts matched and it plugged right up with a little force. We must have the same Diehard charger. Mine will do either 12V/2A or 6V/4A. Thanks for your advice.
Yep that's the one, and you're welcome that's what the forum is all about
Thanks. Robbie Norris in Lincolnton, NC painted it. He's a freakin' genius. It's loosely based on a Haley Limited Edition paint scheme but, with a lot more graphics and detail.
I own two of em. I rotate btwn the 2 Harley's,
my old TBird and my Mtr/Home. Anything that is not
driven daily. I've forgotten and left something plugged in
for weeks on end. No problems. They bring the battery up
to 95-98% and maintain it there.
When I worked at the local HD dealer, we had guys buying batteries every 2 years who didn't use a tender. Those who used them averaged 5 years or more on batteries. It's insurance, won't hurt your battery, just the opposite.
Your battery will not go dead in a couple of weeks. My battery is almost 5 1/2 years old. I do not own a battery tender. I clean the bike after I ride it. I'm not going to plug the damn thing in everytime I get off of it too. Unless they come out with an electric model.
I will post when the original battery will not crank anymore. Maybe it's just me but I don't trust a little cheap *** looking tender sending juice to my battery all the time. I would rather pull the battery and charge it off the bike.
But if you want to charge your battery all the time, go for it. I guess if my battery was failing every 2 years I might try one or switch to another battery company.
