For those that bought or have a hammock seat on there touring bike are you happy with it? Any regrets? THis seat is very expensive and dont want to make the wrong decision. I have a stock seat on my street glide right now but want something more comfortable. I tried the sundowner at the dealer and i felt like i was sitting 2" taller. My dad has an ultra seat on his street glide and man is that thing comfortable but its way to big and bulky. The hammock seat looks nice. Doesnt look to big. Just looking for your thoughts. Hate to spend money if i dont have to . I thought about just sending my seat to Mean City Cycles for there double foam.
Have a Hammock (unheated) on my Ultra Limited and like it. It moves me back about an inch which I needed for leg room. It is actually wider than the stock seat and passenger pad is larger. Some people complain because the nose is a bit wider than stock and makes the seat feel higher. I have a long enough inseam that I do not notice it. In my opinion it would look massive on a SG unless your set up for two up touring with a passenger backrest. Think if I was going that route I'd look into a solo that has a removable passenger seat. Signature pic is the old stock seat.
I have an '11, Ultra.. so she's a big girl; Had OEM seat but found that it occassionally bottomed out and my butt was really tired after just 300 miles. So I tried and then bought the hammock. Yes, it was pricey and it does raise the seat height about an inche, but damn it feels great. I know you can have your current seat re-worked and maybe save some money and I know HD is expensive but I love my new seat. Good luck.

Would you say the hammock seat is as big or smaller than the stock ultra seat. The ultra seat on my dads street glide looks like a couch but is so comfortable.

Do both that's what I did, and I will tell you this, I am sure that MCC does a wonderful job with the double foam mod, but I don't know from my butt, because I love the Hammock seat so much that my MCC seat has never been taken out of the box.
Just search the forum for the Hammock seat, I have seen this discussed time and time again, and would say 95+% of the people are happy with the Hammock.
One day I will break down and try my still new MCC seat, I think. Both are good choices.
I believe it is larger than stock. It is an ok seat, but I am one of the ones not overly thrilled with it. The backrest does not fit it well. I would not buy it again. I had the older thicker stock seat. I would try and find a demo before I spent the money.

I know you didn't ask me, but I thought I would answer anyway. The seat is just a touch wider than the stock seat, and allows you to sit back farther, and although others mention it sits higher than the stock seat, I don't feel this to be true. It may be little more narrow at the tank area, and so maybe when I put my feet down I don't feel the height increase. I don't know why, I just don't feel a height increase. But It is a little wider for the passenger and just under the rider, and much more comfortable than the stock ultra seat.
go to your dealer and demo one. That's what I am going to do in the spring. They said stop by anytime and they would put one on my bike and let me take for a good long ride.
I guess this is a shot of the stock street glide seat and the hammock seat. Dont really want to move back any as i hear this is true with the hammock. But also looks, the hammock looks great compaired to a stock ultra seat. Would like some pics of this seat on a street glide without tour pak
I think both the rider and passenger pads are a bit wider than stock Ultra seat. I too do not notice any difference in height but I'm flat footing either with room to spair. My concern for putting a Hammock on a Street Glide would be the looks of the huge passenger seat unless you had a backrest or rack of some kind back there. Also, I notice your pic has a rider backrest. Be aware the Hammock backrest slot is about an inch further back than stock seats.
I'm happy with my hammock but still put a rider seat pad on for long days. I find I still get numb butt after several hundred miles and have to take a longer break than just a gas stop. If I'm with a group that are stopping every 100 miles or so for gas and a cold drink I can go all day without it bothering me.
