Default Saddlebag cup holder?

First let me explain how this came about. On my way to work last night I stopped to get some chow from fast food joint. Put it in my SG saddlebag. Thought I had the drink cup nicely secured with rain gear in the corner of the bag. When I got to work, I opened the bag to find the cup empty with lid still on. Apparently the pressure againt the cup blew out the bottom.

My question is, has anyone come up with a way to secure a cup in the saddlebag for short rides like this? I don't think I need, or want, to mount a cup holder on the handlebars because I don't use it that much. Maybe once a week.

Thanks.

Try a plastic water bottle. Get the drink and poor it in and place it in the bag.

God Bless and ride safe,

Thats a good question. I have one of those ram cup holders that can quickly come off handle barrs.

I used some old couch cushions (foam) and cut them to the shape of my saddle bag. I cut two cup holes into the foam. I guess I could upholster them but I don't keep them in there long. I'm an avid Dunkin Donut coffee drinker. It was evident I had to create something.

A variation on the water bottle; get a plastic bottle like a Liter Coke, and cut the top third of it off. Put that in you bag, and your cup in the bottle. Don't have to pour it out of the cup.
