Ever since I had my front tire replaced with a Metzler 880 Marathon I have been hearing this humming or wind type sound that actually gets louder when I corner. It's driving me crazy!
I can't seem to locate where it's coming from but I do believe is up front and down low.
I hope it's not my front wheel bearings, I jacked the bike up and tried to move it side to side but there was no play in the wheel. Don't know if bad bearings can be eliminated with this test.
My next thought would be tires singing or maybe rotors rubbing. I just don't know.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
I remember an issue with tires on Hondas where they made a bad noise when brand new. It turned out that in some of the tread grooves there was a little membrane of rubber that was left from a manufacturing defect. Somehow that made a singing sound.
I get a sound on my RKC tires but not when they are new. As they wear, they start to cup and develope a sawtooth pattern. I take a belt sander and knock off the high spots and it makes the tires quiet again. I doubt that is your problem since your post seems to be talking about new tires.

Typically this is a sign of uneven tire wear (cupping). Usually caused by riding the twisties hard with under inflated tires. You should notice the humming more in a left hand curve than a right hand curve. Here's everything you would ever want to know about it.....
