Have always run Metzlers until this Ultra Classic, no noise except on temporary road patches. Running the Dunlops that came on the bike for now, they don't make any noise on straight stretches, but as soon as I lean even a little bit staying in the same lane, these ones "sing" like crazy (yes...they do know the words).
After reading the above posts there is some consolation in knowing others have experienced the same hum and there may not be a mechanical problem with the bearings etc.
It's funny that the back tire which is also a 880 Marathon makes no noise that I can hear.
The front tire only has around 4000 miles on it and still looks new. It has hummed since almost new. It is really loud at times and even a slight corner will change pitch.
If it is the tire I may consider changing to a Avon or Michelin.
