I usually stop by my local dealer at least once every couple of weeks just to check out what has showed up lately and to b.s. with the staff. Recently, not a lot of inventory has moved so I asked the manager how things were going. He told me the bottom dropped out of his sales after the '12's were gone. This is a dealer that sold all but two of his '12's thirty days before the '13's were released.
The local dealer here doesn't like trades but discounts his bikes exceptionally well and throw in extras to boot. Plus, the 20% discount on parts is really nice.
Just wondering if other areas are struggling with their sales or it's a local thing.
Another thing he was telling me is that the county we live in has more registered Harley owners than any other bike manufacture and by a big margin. One of the largest margins in the country actually.
Not so much out here or anywhere other than the North West as of yet.
Supposed to be 62 here today.
Lotta new bikes still moving out here at my dealership.
The cows ain't come home yet.
They might be ready to start thinkin' about it though, but not quite just yet.
Ibought a new bike last week. Thay said that sales had slowed but they were still moving bikes. Normal winter sales slump. They are waiting to see what Harley comes out with for mid year models. They said that always spikes up sales. That and warmer temps.

Yea. The same at my local dealer.
The dealer is painting and re- tiling the whole place.
I can't wait for just a little warmer temps.
An interesting thing that I've noticed up here in the Great White North is the number of used Americans bikes being offered for sale here at HD dealers and independent dealerships. I've never seen so many than now. Looks as though the US dealers can't get rid of used ones fast enough and exporting them. This is ok if your looking for a used bike here in Canada but not so good if your trying sell one as the competition is greater with so many bikes on the used market.
Same here in Iowa, although we haven't had that real cold shot yet...but it's coming!
Harley BB and I are hoping for that, I am banking on the global warming theory......
Wisconsin (and above) will become the new desert south west, and those in the middle will experience little to no change.......
I agree with mkguitar.Winter. Those bikes will move in February. And if you see the one like in February and say, "I'll buy that in May when the weather is nice", it'll be gone.
