Default Rhineheart baffles install?

Have 3.5 rhinehearts.the high flow baffles stick out the end about 3 inches when l slip them in.do I need to trim them off or should iuse a piece of 2 by 4 on the end with a rubber hammer? Just don't want to mess up the pipes. Thanks

I installed the hi-flows in my 4" Rineharts a while back. The fit is a little snug, if not they would rattle. Make sure you are installing the inlet side of the baffle into the muffler body. Be careful tapping them in, use a piece of wood or plastic against the baffle and gently tap them in.

If you get to aggressive with the hammer you will deform the end and it won't fit into the end cap.

I had to carefully grind about 1/16" off of the back of my baffles in order for the end caps to fully seat against the muffler body. If you have to do this grind very little at a time, once you grind the metal off you can't put it back, and it may rattle.

It was a little bit of a pain in the butt but the results were great. I love the way the hi-flows sound.

Make sure it is the right pipe. Look for a serial number, it can be found on the hardware that holds the pipe to the bike. If the number starts with an R5 it will not fit. Rinehart changed manufacturers in 09' so the high flow won't fit the older ones. The high flow baffle is the same for the 3.5 and the 4 inch newer pipe.
My high flow won't fit my 3.5 so instead of sending them back I see 4 inches in my future :-)

Ok, before any sick and twisted comments are made. . . I see four inch pipes in the future for my bike.
I just needed to clarify.
