Default Polishing Stock Stainless Bars

I still have the stock stainless handle bars on my Street Glide as they suit me just fine. During my last few rides of the season, I tied the bandana I used to cover my mouth and lower face from the cold onto the handle bar. The bandana movement and dust from the dirt road caused fine scratches on the bar so I took some MAAS Chrome and Metal polish and they easily polished out...However under the direct light now I see that the polished areas look really shiny, but hazed compaired to the rest of the bar if that makes sense. Since there is not a clear coat on the bars (I believe they are just polished stainless) I thought polishing would not be an issue. How can I polish the haze out of the areas I used the MAAZ on to blend it back into the existing non polished portion? Its hard to describe what I'm referring to. Its shiny and scratch free now but has a shiny lightly cloudy look where I polished.

I'm not so sure you have "stainless" stock bars. Anyway, try Happich Simichrome paste polish, it works wonders, available at most dealerships.

Semichrome should do the trick.

Try placing a magnet on them.If it does not stick it's stainless for sure.If it does stick,it could still be stainless!

find an old sweatshirt, that's the best material i've found for polishing. make some strips out of it 1 1/2" wide and put one wrap around the bars. apply the semichrome to the furry side of the fabric as it will hold the abrasive polish in place. using a sawing motion you'll be able to polish all the way around the bars. i just built a set of headers for my rocket III triumph, 3 into 1 out of stainless and my system of polishing the stainless worked great. apply pressure to begin with and then decrease pressure till you get it shined up nicely. hope this helps. using the cursive letter "e" or small script letter "L" to wrap one complete time around the bars is the best i've found, and i scrounge around at yard sales and pick up sweatshirts/pants for really cheap, and they make great polishing rags. make sure to wash them to get any grit out of the fabric first though. if this is too abrasive, you could use something like turtle cleaner wax which would likely be less abrasive than the happich semichrome.

S100 has a metal polish that works nicely but I'm not sure it will fix your issue. Might be worth a try.
