Default Upgrades

Finally after 5 1/2 years I am going to do some mechanical upgrades. I have put about $3,000 in cosmetic accesories on my Road King classic, but now I am going for sound and power.
While its in storage though I am putting new white wall tires with the Harley written on the white wall, chrome rear brake master cylinder, chrome rocker, medium size beach bars with mesh clutch and brake cables, with all others thru the handle bars. These new add ons will complete all I have wanted to do with the exception of chrome bolts/screws.
Now for the fun stuff. I am going with a K & N filter, new headers, Power Commander and D & D 2 into 1 pipes. Any input on these pipes would be greatly appreciated. I had screamin eagle slip ons and liked the sound when I got on them when crusin around 40 mph or so. What I am looking for is something with a nice low, loud rumble when crusin and something that will get ones attention when I roll the throttle hard. The dealer says these pipes are all that and I will gain 20 hp. Lastly, If I want something louder, with this system, can I just buy new pipes and change them out with no major issues? Thanks a ton in advance for any input.
Also too, if any one is interested in the slip ons, original seat, floor boards, shift pegs, hand grids, handle bars and quite a bit of other stuff let me know.

A 24% gain in HP by changing pipes? Let us know how that works out.

Yeah I am a little skeptical in regards to HP. I was thinking more along the lines of 12-15, but he was pretty adament. We'll see when they do the dyno!!

Thanks for the heads up on the HP. What about the D&D 2 into 1 pipes. Any thoughts on those as far as sound?

Something louder? LOL don't worry about that my friend as the fatcat has a mighty roar! On my second fatcat this time I actually toned it down a tad (barely) by going with the wrapped perforated baffle. Fit and finish top notch along with performance! Nice choice and good luck.

Heres a video of a guy taking off rhineharts and adding a fatcat

Jswerve....Thanks for the video. Nice sound. Fat cats sound much louder but with a lower rumble, which is what i want. Not looking for the high pitch sound at all. The low brassy rumble if you know what i mean. Hate to bother you, but did you notice much of an increase in HP or foot lb torque on the high end?

My 96" got 78hp and 93lbs of torq with high airflow a/c, pc-V, and fatcat exhaust. You will notice quite a bit of low end twist which is what I like. I just did the fatcat with PV on my CVO 110 but no dyno yet its too frickin cold to drive it anywhere so I will have to wait.

Also, the video don't do the pipes justice, sound SICK in person.

So on the contrary to what drillin boss insinuated you did gain roughly 20 lbs on HP and good low end torque. Not bad. I am really excited to get the bike out of storage. My dealer stores bikes all winter for $300 and it includes an oil change in the spring and 20% if you buy any Harley parts and labor or 10% off after market.
I do have a heated jacket liner and gloves with chaps, so 45 and sunny is a walk in the part. Bet i get my bike out of there in Febr.
