+1 for the Power Vision. Wouldn't know about support if you have trouble on the road because I haven't had any, but it only takes about 10 seconds to reload the stock fuel map.
Thanks for sharing your experience mgmmgm. 1500 miles with a ping would really frustrate me! I can understand why you would be disilusioned with SE products, needless to say, the HD techs not delivering and the service desk charging you for the privaledge?! Have you shared this with HD customer service? I think they should get this feedback.
Not mentioned is that there are two SE Tuners, the street and the pro. dealers liek the street model because they can sell you a dyno tune with it. The pro version is stand alone OR with a dyno. Make sure which you have. stay away from the street version as it has limits which the pro version does not. Power vision and TTS are also on equal to or better depending on what day of the year it is.
I am new to this forum and would appreciate advice. I was fortunate to purchase a stock 2009 Ultra Classic earlier this summer which had 2,500 miles on it. I have fallen in love with this bike after riding it some 5,000 miles and feel I understand its capabilities. While I am content with its power around town I find the 96" runs out of power far too soon for passing slow cars on two-lane HWYS, etc... I have decided to do a Stage 2 build through my local dealership that includes SE A/C, SE slipons, 255 Cams, decomp relaease. I assume that the dealer can find a perfect remap given that all mods are SE products. Everything I've read suggests improved performance from my build if I also include a SE Super Tuner. I haven't learned much detail as to how the tech will use the tuner to tweek the mods to maximize the builds potential and justify spending an additional $551 for the Tuner. Buying the tuner will add 31% more to my build cost of $1,750. I doubt that the tuner will add 31% improvement but the single ojective of this build is to improve performance so I don't want to sell the build short. I decided not to increse to 103" which would have been an additional $1,000. Just trying to get the best bang for my money while remaining with Harley products. Thak you in advance for your thoughts.
Your dealer is giving you the high hard one on the tuner. You can buy the latest SEPST Harley tuner (32109-08c) on ebay for right at $330. It only retails for $459.95
You are correct SCJ. The proposal on this dealer build extended no specials offers. I have yet to agree to the proposal and intend to negotiate: especially as it is about to snow here any day. Won't be any Harleys on the road till late April so I would think some price concession should be in order?!
HD SE 255 performance Cams p/n 25638-07
Aside from the two quotes HD is a bit vague on specifics re: compression release. Claims "substantial increase in low-end TRQ on engines with compression up to 10 to 1": "Compression releases may be required depending on displacement and compression ratio". My buddy did the same Stage 2 on build his 07 Ultra, also included the 103" BB; but, without CR. He had problems with warm starts.
The SE 255 is one of the best smog cams you can get, not many after market companies make smog cams, the 255 has the smallest intake duration 211 and earliest intake closing of any cam out there, it is what it is, put a TW 222 or SE 204 in your bike right after you rode it with a SE 255 and you would not put the SE 255 back in your bike.

dont understand what i am reading but I think you mean dealers do not lke the street because they cannot sell the dyno tune but they can with the pro version. The street tuner has very limited maps and is only good with HD screemin eagle components and their is very little that can be changed with it. The pro lets the ecm be recalibrated and changed for build specifics and requires a trained tech to fine tune and tweak the map that is available for the build. TTS is a fave of mine and at any time you would have a problem, if it was done correctly, you could always put your stock map back and get assistance from the master himself. Steve of TTS was the original SE tuner developer so he is very capable
