Interesting you posted this. I tired them and had the worst exp ever. The gloves never fit right, the controller looked like a cheap radio shack home made job...never again. Went gerbings and never looked back
I do not know why your experience is so different than mine. I have Gerbing original gloves, jacket liner and dual controller and heat is even and adjustable. You need to talk with Gerbings so that you can get your set-up right. Had these since 2005 and original gloves fit better than G3.
I know they try to make good every customer. I hope you give them a chance to get your set-up dialed in.
I guess what I should have added to the original post is that I did contact Gerbing's directly. Revzilla asked me to contact a specific woman, don't remember her name right now, but I tried for three weeks to get a hold of her, I left voice messages and my emails were returned as undeliverable. I gave up on her and talked to whoever it was that answered the phone. They were of no help at all, they just said return them to Revzilla, so that is when I called Revzilla back and I ended up buying a second pair of gloves so I could hold onto the first set and mix and match components to see which one was not working. From what you guys are saying the gloves do not heat up very much and that is a common problem. Are the Tourmaster gloves compatible with the Gerbings dual controller? Maybe Ill keep the controller and jacket liner and just return the rest.
Never heard that before. I have no problems with my gear. My gloves can be adjusted anywhere from barely warm to unbearably hot. You never answered, were the plugs on your gloves straight in or 90 degrees?

Me either. I left my G3's on and they caught on fire...True story.
When I talked to Gerbings the last time they said if the gloves were not new then I would send them to Gerbings and they would test them, testing this time of year will take maybe six weeks. SIX WEEKS, that is a long time. But since the gloves are new it is better to send them back to Revzilla. Gerbings might make it right but I need gloves now, I plan on riding down to Florida in a couple weeks, it will be cold when I leave and even colder when I get back, I can't wait six weeks.
I've emailed a couple of the companies listed above to see if their gloves are compatible with the Gerbings heat controller. If they are I think I will return the Gerbings and get another brand.
To answer the question, They have the 90 degree plugs, so they are the new type.
Me and wife have our Gerbings whole heated gears for last 7 years no problem except once jacket liner didn't work but it was replaced under warranty with newer micro wires technology.
I had my original Gerbing jacket liner for 4 years and used it a lot. One sleeve lost its heat so I sent the jacket back to them. They sent me one of their new style liners free, no questions asked. My G3 gloves work well too though plugging them in can be a pain. I'd give Gerbing a chance to make things right for you. They are a reputable company that stands behind their products & warranty.
I've used every brand of heat clothing; I will only use Gerbing. There's nothing better. Like the boys are saying. Contact the company and they'll get you straight. It may be difficult, but it's worth it.
I had problems with my G3 gloves when I first bought them, but cleaned all of the contacts with Q-tips and alcohol. They have worked great ever since. The plugs must have had a little oil on the contacts from manufacturing or packing.
I clean the plugs at the beginning of each riding season.
Also, be sure to follow the correct start up procedure for the bike then the gear. Sometimes my controller goes goofy when I forget.
