So the mini apes are on! And I will share my exact experience. First, my particular bars are the Road 6 Customs 10" bagger bars, 1".

Next, I will say that for my particular bike (08 SG w/ABS and cruise) ALL my stock wiring, cables, and lines worked, with no extensions needed.

The clutch cable is probably the only thing that's close to needing to be extended, but I can turn the bars from full lock to full lock and there is no increased clutch tension and I did not have to reroute the cable outside of the fairing. The brake line had plenty of room and did not require re routing. The only thing I had to do was loosen the banjo bolt at the master cylinder and rotate the brake line a couple of degrees to make the line sit properly. (It would have worked fine without rotating it but aesthetically I wanted it rotated to flow with the bars better.

The stock TBW and electrics all had more than enough excess to not require extensions and also did not require re routing inside the fairing.

For my application I did not internally wire these bars. Because they are 1" diameter bars it would have been more headache than it was worth (especially on the right side with the TBW and all the audio and cruise wiring. Plus the fairing blocks the view of the front of the bars and since the bars are black it really is not noticeable.

For anyone looking to do this with these bars I feel confident in saying you can do it with your stock lines, cables and wiring, and not worry about your brake line being too taut or having to massage the hard parts of the lines, and not worry about having to replace your clutch cable. Other 10" bars may measure differently so again, I'm talking about these particular bars.

As has already been addressed the mirrors are now useless but I am working on a relocation bracket to drop them down about 1-1.5" so they can stay on the fairing and be useful. Sorry about the crappy pics, I'll get some better ones later.

Nice pics. I went with the WO578 and had to change the clutch cable. Bars must measure a little differently.

Thanks. Pit- I haven't had a chance to ride other than down the block since I had to go out of town. I'll be back tomorrow so I can really get it out on the road. I'll definitely update the crew about my impressions of the ride.

Davey- yeah I know it seems most bars measure differently and when I measured mine they hit 10" dead on from center of the crossbar to center of the grip area.

Next thing I'm tackling is dropping my mirrors 1" so I can still use them.
