Can anyone recommend (of coarse in a PM so we don't break any forum rules) a classified web site that has lots of aftermarket parts? HD forums is a great site but trying to find used aftermarket parts in the classified section is like looking for a needle in a hay stack because every other ad seems to be stock take offs which there is a ton of the same take offs out there because they are all the same "first" parts to go from a stock bike. stock take off speakers, stock take off radios, stock take off foot boards, stock take off bags/fenders, stock take off wheels, stock take off exhaust, stock take off bars, stock take off windshields you get the point please don't take this as a bitch post, I am just looking for aftermarket used parts I already have a garage full of not worth anything stock take off parts.

most aftermarket style take offs come from crashed bikes- or bikes under going complete rebuilds- which means you are dealing with a shop or salvager.

many areas have them, we have a couple in PHX- they are not the kind of people I wanna do business with.

the beauty of our HDF classifieds is that the posting criteria keeps out the "bad guys" for the most part.
All the deals i have made have been perfectly straight up

craigslist works, swaps

i don't much use ebay- too many rip offs in my experience

There are probably 100 times more stock take offs out there than after-market takeoffs. Most aftermarket additions are sold with the bike. Sometimes guys remove some of them to try to recoup some of their investment. So Craigslist (for local deals) or maybe Ebay if you can stomach the requirement to pay via paypal.
It's just not that common for these kind of parts to be out there in volume. As MK says, you might find some of this kind of stuff on salvaged bikes...but really...is that what you want? Especially when one side of the bike or the other is usually messed up pretty bad.

Have seen some pretty good deals in the classified section here at HDForums.

Edit: oops, sorry. See OP had already been there.

Actually HD forums is such a great site. I PMed Terry told him my concerns he has now added a stock take off page in the classifieds! Thank you Terry!
