I use the Ram Mount stuff w/ the short arm to reduce vibration. Worked well on a long trip out west.
The round plastic disk is drilled and tapped to accept the 1/4 x 20 bolt in the Ram Mount. The GoPro is attach to the disk with the flat adhesive mount that the GoPro comes with.
If you use the 'skeleton case' there are openings in the side that allow the USB cable to be used, thus no worry about battery life.

Good tip Joe, I forgot to mention that in my post. I always have a short tether on mine. I learned the hard way when a GPS took off in free flight after hitting a monster pot hole.
