Does somebody make a kit for an air change? I always make a mess and get air everywhere.

What air should I use? SE air is the best I've heard, but the air at the dealer is hotter.

Make sure you change it in the winter..
Summer Humidity will give you a false pressure reading.

Also IMPORTANT info...
if you live near the coast you have to buy mountain air without the salt

This will void your warranty, the stealers the only one that can change the air and you keep the warranty

Move your tires too, ya might get flat spots on them from setting too long in one place.
Jack it up in the air where all the pressure is off of them.

What is wrong with you guys? Of course you can and should swap the air in your tires but you seem to forget the all important thing here. The new air must be official Harley air you get pumped at the Harley store. Anything of lesser quality will lead to serious injury or possibly death. Oh ya, it does not make any difference if the air is synthetic or not, as long as it is the correct viscosity. Some folks believe that using the synthetic air will allow you to get more miles between changes but I am not sure about that.

I thought you only got in trouble for changing the air in the crankcase with red dye (untaxed) air, or are the tires included too?

Anyone know if red dye air affects the warranty for Harleys used as implements of husbandry?

Sorry but genuine HD air smells like it was refined in a hog farm. Please don't even bring up syn vs oringinal air.I prefer the the good stuff even if it is imported made from melting glaciers and seperated from hydrogen.

But the worst air you can use is the bulk bgas that comes from any and all politicians

you don't have to use harley air, just drain and refill with normal air. it's not hard to do,but i wish they would make the valve stems longer i have a hard time getting my mouth on them.

After reading all the BS, I noticed that no one answered the original question.
First you fill a portable air tank to 120psi. Yes, any air will do. Bury tank in back yard leaving nozzle exposed. Urban air (because of additives) will take longer to ferment and darken than rural air. Once a month go out and squirt some of the air into a glass jar. Don't use plastic. Chemicals in the plastic will chemically combine with the nitrogen in the air which is about 80% nitrogen and give a false reading. With city air wait until the 3rd month to do first check. You want the air to at least be the color of weak tea. Some riders claim that darker is better. The darker air stiffens the sidewall of the tire and decreases heat buildup. Air that is too dark to see through makes the tire to stiff to give and creates a rough and dangerous ride.

As for the oil rinse I only use distilled water. Tap water has natural minerals and added chemicals in it. You don't want minerals added to your oil and the oil already has the needed chemicals in it. The Harley Blower is great if you are in a hurry to put the now clean oil back in the bike.
