I use a pitbull jack and have never strapped it down, its a really stable lift.I you have the need to strap yours down and not over the seat then remove it and strap it to the frame rails.
I do not own a jack, but when I have seen bikes on jacks, they are always strapped down. They can get strapped down by looping it over the passenger footboard mounts.
OP, I hope you get an answer to your actual question instead of these jerk-off replies telling you to get a new jack. I've strapped Ultra down with a strap across the seat with a towel over the seat, but wasn't really happy with the arrangement.

They did answer the question and are trying to save the original OP's bike from damage. You people that use a $100. communist china jack on a 25k bike are not too bright.
A J&S jack or a pitbull is 100 times more stable unstrapped then any other jack all strapped to the bike. I have a J&S jack and we put my brothers springer on it and can climb all over the bike...it is that solid.
I strap mine down with 2 racheting straps, last thing I want is a big harley on top of me, cheap insurance IMO.
One Strap in front of tank over frame other one over seat with towel or remove seat and go over frame rails.
