My dealer offers VIP maintence for a price also. They offer seveal different ones. They promise front of the line service, pick-up and delivery, plus one front or rear tire replacement and also one battery replacement. Their service uses synthetic at the same price. Now they offer every 2,500 miles. If you add up the price for service at factory 5,000 mile service is it a buy or not.

My dealerhad a similair offer, except they bundled the lifetime service with the extended warranty and it was significantly cheaper than the price you listed. I took the deal, I can do all the work on the bike myself but I really hate changing oil. I didn't include it in the financing, I just paid for it. The only thing I don't like is that they charge a little more for using synthetic oil. It is worth it to me and I figured that I will use it enough to make it worth it.
If theycharge extra for synth oil, what does that tell you about their opinion of it? Don't waste yourmoney on it if you have afull, lifetime warranty. I think I had better apply for a warranty too.

This would pencil out as quite a good deal for me. But, I'm numbers oriented and with the mileage and how long I keep things that is the reason it works for me; I didn't even factor in the wash & wax... (though makes me a bit nervous someone else doing that.) You GOTTA DO THE MATH! The questions others posed are big issues though: the dealer's streetrep, who the wrenches are, the fine print.

If all the details were in order I'd do it. But, I'm just as sure that even at a quality dealer, this wouldn't pencil out for many, many riders .. and that's why the dealer is offering it. It's all about numbers

If the deal sounds too good to be true it probably isn't. My dealer offers a similar deal and when you crunch the numbers it is not worth it and the dealer wins. I loose I did not take it. The wash is o.k but the wax is just that HD dry wash and wax thing I bought it and do it myself. i also made friends with the wrench turner in the shop and anything I need done such as the occasional clutch adjustment he comes over my house and does it. Other than that I do it all other than warranty service. Good luck.

Is it parts and labor? What flluids are included? Do they do the brake fluid change?

If it is labor only, a guy can buy a good jack, all the necessary tools and a service manual for a whole lot less.

I see it includes washing and waxing. I like to clean and wax my own - gives me time to look for problems and items that need attention.
The plan at my dealer is all factory maintenance (P&L) which is every 5k, plus 2500 mi oil/filter changes. Oil is Syn3. Includes pickup or drop-off of bike. Or I can get a free rental for the day! $1999 for lifetime! I plan to ride a lot, and the thought of getting a free rental evry 2500 miles sounds pretty cool to me. I think I just convinced myself to do it!

Even though it sounds like a pretty good deal for someone who puts on some real miles each year, I'd probably opt NOT to do it. Once the dealerhas your money, they sort of have you locked in, or at least obligated to work with them. For those of us who enjoy (and are able) to do some or all of our own maintenance, its not that great of a deal.

If the service department is a good one, and the fine print reads OK, and you ride the pants off the bike.. it would be a good deal.

The dealer is counting on the statistics for average miles per year and turn over on bikes.

Mine has lost money on me. I have 30,000 on an 03 and 20,000 on an 06 that I bought new with PPM. They hate to see me pull up.

@ 20,000 + miles a year my deal loses on the deal. It is made for someone that rides 7500 mile a year. and then the dealer wins. By the prices they charge for the schedule maintenances I have already paid mine off, and the rest is gravy.
