They may be. I went through a few sets of speakers. Always wanting more i guess. I had the hogtunes 5 1/4 and they were great for the price tage of like 80 bucks. Often you find them in the classifieds here for like 60. I ran the hogtunes with the stock HK stereo. Then i added a Rockford fosgate amp and bigger speakers.

The installation is quite simple ( it is actually "Plug and Play" ) and there are no cutting of wires or "Creative Engineering" techniques required. The outer fairing comes off ( 5 torx screws .. 3 across the windshield and one on each side down near the bottom near the lower triple trees on the riders side of the fairing. The rear are simple just pop off the speaker covers remove 3 ( maybe 4 screws ) and pull the old speakers out and pop the new ones on in reverse order.
