Default Anyone using the AIRHAWK R ???

I have a Corbin dual heater saddle which I like a lot. Now I have some problems and was told a AIRHAWK R model could help me. The R having the middle channel for pressure relief..... I am planning a 700 mile trip down to the Keys in a few weeks so I have one on order. I would like to know your thoughts on the R or the original model.... not the 2. Thanks in advance, Be Safe JIM

Sure can relate to the getting old. Only 53 but have beat my body to death and it is all coming back to haunt me. One of the worst is a very old tailbone injury that has come back and after a few hundred miles, bike or cage I feel the pain. I need a body transplant.....

LOL, Got you by one, 54 here. I had a back operation in October/ did a MRI today. PSA went nuts for no reason... all checked out good. My doctors, both riders told me to get 10 inch ape bars and now the Airhawk 2 if I wanted to keep riding.... small price. I did 27 years with the PD before retiring.... broke a lot and abused what I didn't break.... I thought I was superman.... Now I pay....LOL

I have the original Airhawk. Don't like it. All the air moves to the front middle and puts pressure on my crotch. Tried all of the inflation "techniques". Not impressed. I hate I paid all that money for the damn thing and it's sitting in a box in the garage.

I have the original and the R. The original does exactly as you describe as well as bunches in the tail bone area. The R on the other hand is a great improvement and solves these problems. I used it this past summer on a 4,000 mile trip with great results. For me it is a must have with my solo seat. I'll be useing it on my 8,000 mile trip to Alaska this June.

I have used an original AirHawk for years and won't leave home without it. I also have a pillion cushion that is used every time we ride two up. Mine is a Medium that has a similar shape as the R; it's doesn't have the front nose on it so there is no crowding up there. I'm sure you've heard it but the less air in it the better. You just need enough so that you're not contacting the Corbin in the seat area of the AirHawk.

I can't speak to an Air Hawk Seat but do have one of their seat cushions and I have found that the less air you put in it, the better it works.
