Oil Filter Question
I am doing my first oil change. Not actually my FIRST oil change, but the first one on a Harley.
I have a few questions...
It's an 04 Electra Glide with 5k on it. It has a stage one kit - I don't think that matters much, though.
Everything that I have read says use only Harley oil filter, because of the bypass valve. Has anyone been using aftermarket filter. If so, what brand?
The book says check the oil on the side-stand, but it doesn't specify if the dipstick should be pressed in all the way, or check it while it's resting on the fill.
The wife and I rode to Laughlin yesterday, pocketed $250 of the casino's money, and rode back today..
570 miles in total
How about the dipstick. Do you generally plug it all the way back in or let it rest while checking the oil?

Thanks.. That's funny **** right there!!
As for the canister style filter. I wish I knew the answer, but I don't. Everything that I have owned has had one use filters.
