Looking for some insight. Currently running Polk (6) speakers all the way around. Thinking of changing up to either Focal or Boston Acoustics. Anybody out there running these speakers? If so what are the pros and cons? Oh before anyone ask changing my amp up as well to either the Alpine PDX 4.10 or the JL HD 600. Thanks in advance.
I run the Boston Accoustic PRO SE 60's in the fairing.. A little pricey, @ $599,...but Crutchfield has them on sale for $399 right now.
Sound is incredible ! Only negaitive is the size of the crossovers. I mounted them on top of the head unit.
Thanks for the reply. Yea I saw that they were on sale and I was also looking at the Focal as well. Was down at the local audio shop and of course there were differences of opinions when it came to both makes. But none of them ride so it went in one ear and out the other. Why did you choice BA over Focal?
I only run batwing speakers (with Arc amp), but my Focal VB165 components are excellent. Clean, efficient and capable of loud volumes. The xover is just a bit bigger than a matchbox. No cons at this point...
Troop and GLACIERPEARL how do they hold up in the elements. I know the obvious, don't get them wet, but looking more for temps flux, setting out in the sun or cold ect.
When I built my system in 2009, from what I had read, the Boston's were a really good speaker. So I went with them. I lived in the heat of Las Vegas for a couple of years, but now back in Ohio.
The Focals were only in about a month before storage. Been in rain with them with no issues (mostly would be concerned with the tweeters). I fully expect (hope?) them to be a durable speaker...
Hmmm seems both are A+ speakers so its just a matter of choosing. Not trying to bring the house down like you GLACIERPEARL but I want my system to be crisp and clean at Hwy speeds. I thinking with either the Alpine PDX or the JL HD 600 pushing them I can't really go wrong with either choice.
Kesean, I have the BA 4x6 speakers above my radio firing into the windshield reflecting right back to me have had them since 09, second set out in last year only because I blew one showing out one night.....remaining speakers are all Hertz... Bottom line I would not be afraid of pulling trigger on the BA SPEAKERS....I am in Texas and yes they have all gotten wet without any problems... Hope this helps.
