Default 06 Police Model Electra Glide ??

Local auction going on soon for a few 06 Electra Glide Police models. Average mileage is 11K.
Any idea what a good bid would be? Also the lens on the driving lights will need to be changed out. Anyone converted a police bike to street leagal before?
Thanks in advance.

14,995.00 is going rate out here. rem you may need to change out pursuit lights for clear light bulbs, seat if you want, somebody makes a passenger seat that mounts independantly so you can keep the air ride seat, remove radio box mount, change out rear tire. The flhtpi comes with a rear tire that only supports solo rider. dont ask me the difference but there is one. Last plan on replacing the clutch! Ya ever watch motorpolice ride?
This is usually an inexpensive way to get into a "big bike" remember you will have a big hole in the fairing where the police radio was ripped out.

Cop bikes have no harness or bar controls for a stereo. Way better off gettin' a clean, low mileage "civilian" '06...lots around!

I have an '04 police EG that had been leased by a motorcycle escort business and turned in at the end of the year's lease. The dealer's price was $14,495, but I bought it in Feb. '05 for $13,750 with 4,750 miles on it. As for civilianizing the bike, the siren, radios, radar, etc. and power supplies have probaby already been removed; mine were. The pursuit/passing lamps, if they are red/blue will also probably have to be replaced if your state law prohibits them on civilian bikes.

As an '06, it will still have some factory warranty remaining, which covers the clutch, etc.

If you decide you want to add features like handlebar controls fora radio, cruise control, chrome controls, etc., buy the HD service manuals for the civilian touring bike and the police supplement. The civilian version will tell you how to do things plus give you wiring diagrams; the police supplement will show you the police wiring; it is relatively easy to duplicate the civilianwiring or bypass the police wiring--just takes a little time to check the wiring diagrams.

I don't often disagree with BH; but the police EG has been an excellent value for me, compared to a Classic or Standard. My bike is essentially a birch white FLHX, with handlebar stereo controls, HD cruise control. detachable tour packs (solo and two-up), etc. Along the way, I have duplicated some Classic features but the most expensive of these was the tour pak; an expense I would have had with an EG Standard. I added HD cruise control, but that would have been an added expense as well on the Classic and Standard.

The cosmetic changes I made quickly after purchasewere to replace the police air seat with an HD RK Standard solo, removed the front and rear bumpers, and replaced the hockey puck saddlebag latch with chrome flush mount buttons. I sold all of the take-off stuff on eBay and had money left over for other bling. The solo seat and pillion were $100; the cop seat and parts went for $175, the bumpers about $75. The chrome buttons for the saddlebags were $12 each.

Good luck.

Cop bikes in ga. go for 13,995, but come already switched to civ. use. All lights and you get new tires too, also cop bikes have rear brake ABSsystem and the hydralic clutch! But with the drop in prices I bet you could beat that by another grand.

Auction is in Alabama, bikes are all white. I am going to try to get it for under 10K. Depending on who shows up and how bad they want it I will win or loose. Many nice used bikes for sale in the area but if I can get a super deal(steal) I will get one. Thanks for the info.

My cop bike is a 04' ,bought it june of 05' with 6,250 miles on it when it came off the 1 yr lease.I paid$14,950 (going rate around here) already had the clear driving lights installed, new 2 up pillow look seat, new front and rear 2-up tires(police tires are runflats, and rated for solo riderboth front and rear,I'm told by the dealer, who is the largest police vehicle lease around my area) and the remainder of the factory 2 yr warrantee.
I had the stage 2 1550 done, clutch looked just fine, primary rebuilt and new oil pump (friend of mine was the service manager and slipped both in under factory warrantee) replaced the cam chain shoe's while the stage 2 was being done as well. I've added a king tour pak, sony deck with front and rear hogtunes, some chrome........... and also disagree with Bounty ..........I'm very pleased with mine ,it was very clean,no scratches anywhere on the paint or chrome,no wear marks on the under side of the crash bar(most do from them )have all my service records because the dealer requires all the leases to be maintained/serviced by them under contract.
I'm sure some of them are beat hard and show alot of wear,i picked mine out of 15 sitting on the floor at the dealer, was in the best shape.

Saved me a few bucks and allowed me to get on a harley right away with in my price range. look it over real good !

I can vouch for the ones at Motor City harley... Awesome bikes and they are marking them down pretty good on the police models. They told me they have new bags, windshields, tires, and more.. I drove 6 hours to deal with them on 2 new bikes this past summer. You wont do much better than with these guys..
