Default Extended throttle insert

I bought a heritage style bar today to replace the stock on my 2013 RK. The HD dealer also said that I needed a new throttle control with extended wires. Will I need these? Anything else I may need?

I am installing 12" Monkey bars on my 2012 RG and I did purchase the throttle control with the extended wires. I believe that comes stock on the CVO models with the wiring inside the handle bars. I got it so I wouldn't have to pull the dreaded green connector through the bars.

On my 11 King I didn't need any thing, had plenty of wire.
I had 2 different dealers tell me I would need to do some extending, all nonsense.
Now if the 13 came with shorter bars then my 11 did, then maybe, but I highly doubt that.

The parts book says yes for my '08 but I didn't use it for either my Heritage style bars or my Big Johnsons. The Heritage styles didn't even have full internal wiring since they were 1" bars, so I really couldn't see the point. The Big Johnsons are 1 1/4" and it was tight pulling it all through but I got it done. Try it first, don't waste your money.

I just cut out the green conector and soldered my own extensions. Never had any troubles and personally know about 4 others who have done the same.
