the 09 and up frames are modular thats really what makes the whole "kit" a possibilty....
its really just a matter of nuts and bolts, no cutting , hacking, welding, etc.....
Good point.

I could always just hold out for a couple years until I'm ready to upgrade my 08 to a new SG and just budget in the drop seat kit.
Post some pictures when your done. Good luck! If you get the FBI kit make sure you get the updated version with the revised battery box and TSSM mount.
Anyone have any comparison information between BaggerWerx and FBI?
I'm liking BaggerWerx b/c it gives an extra half inch, doesn't require the extra ABS module kit, and requires no brake bleeding.
I'm liking FBI b/c they use Danny Grey and I want the Airhawk. Not sure if the seats for FBI and BaggerWerx would have the same seat pan?
Also planning to go with the CamTech tank/side panel kit that is designed for FBI. Wondering if that extra half inch on BaggerWerk would affect kit fitment?
Lastly is the turn signal canceling box: I know b/c I read on these forums that FBI's original kit had troubles with this working right? Haven't heard anything either way on BaggerWerx? Anyone confirm t/s canceling still works with BaggerWerx kit?
Did I see somewhere that BaggerWerx only lowers 2.5 if you have a SG??? Ah ha, found it: I was close. It's in BaggerWerx install video. Video says it lowers seat 2" on SG and 3.5" on Electra Glides. How is that possible if the kit does not affect suspension or ride ride? Only difference between a SG and EG is the lowered suspension on SG. No wait, the seats are also different. Maybe that is the game? BaggerWerx seat is a lower profile like the factory SG seat? If so this kit is really only a 2" drop? If FBI doesn't have the differentiation could FBI actually be an inch more of a drop for the kit itself???
After one year in the planning and purchasing a 2013 SG, I bought the Fatbaggers Drop Seat Kit, had my dealer install it and I am very happy with it, except I have no seat for it. Long long long story much shorter, I talked in depth with DG about upgrading to the airhawk, and them customizing the seat for an extra buck. I can't even begin to go into how happy I was with the incredible customer service. They discussed details, had me take pics of me on a stock dropseat that came with it, and I was so confident they'd nail it. I did need another inch, and they had room to trim, and I wasn't ready to mess with the suspension yet. They would not let us hold onto the shipped seat because the custom one was to be made. So that got shipped back. Then the delays started, with excuse after excuse...I started getting nervous . My bike is at the dealer and we're all waiting for the seat for 4 1/2 weeks . So I ordered a solo they had on the shelf, to have something to sit on. The narrow drop solo seat came in and it was at least an inch and a half higher, which made no sense. I was real nervous. Then I was told the other day by Danny Gray that they are having unexpected absences and they are looking to gets their house in order, was her exact words. That meant I wasn't getting the seat I ordered and the basic seat they sent and needed back was still a good 2 inches too high. No seat was in the works for me for the foreseeable future from DG. I am a left leg amputee and fit is critical, the drop seat frame allowed me to get back into a touring bike. So, I scrambled and found a local custom seat guy who is going to my dealer to make the pan and do my seat from scratch. I do think it will workout a lot better for me, as opposed to a seatmaker 3000 miles away doing a custom seat. I will say Danny Gray and Fatbaggers customer service is outstanding. However the disappointment and stress level in them after planning for close to one year left me disappointed beyond belief. Everything I did, researched, planned and started execution with my finally purchasing the 2013 SG and FBI drop seat 7 weeks ago..all was dependant on one thing ..."THE SEAT". I don't want to lower the suspension as I wanted the SG for the ride quality. The seat maker I found is heading to my dealer on Friday for us to start from scratch again. I'm sure DG and FBI with turn things around , they are great companies with excellent reputations. I think I just fell thru the cracks with bad timing, wrong time, wrong place, and no seat. Dean
