Primary & Clutch Work
Ordered an S.E. compensator, a Hayden tensioner, & a new bearing. Opened it up & found the chain real tight, the stock compensator with very little wear, & the bearing lookin' good. But, since I had 'em...... Swapped all the parts out, which includes pullin' the clutch basket along with the compensator. I mention that because a couple of years ago I put hydraulics in my clutch.
Dis-assembly & assembly went pretty quick & easy. When I finished everything felt just as it had before dis-assembly. Butt, since I was in there...I also picked up a batch of speed bleeders. Installed those & bled the brakes & the clutch. Nice, quick, & easy. The real point of the tale is that I pulled the clutch off the bike, reinstalled it on the bike & bled it for the first time in two years. All that & it works as good as it always has. No adjustment, no lubing, no fiddling with cables in two years & the clutch works as good or better than any clutch I've had in any vehicle. I really like my hydraulic clutch!
Oh yeah, the primary howl is back to normal chain sounds. I might have accidentally fixed something!
