HD's stock over the past 5 yrs have struggled to stay with the S&P 500, which importantly, from an investor's viewpoint, is not real attractive. Hope everything works out for everyone.

Heard from a parts manager yesterday that said the MoCo sent dealers an advisory that if the strike goes into next week, they will fire 500 workers. Wonder if that's just a pressure tactic?

The MOCO never sent an advisory stating they would fire 500 employees. The advisory stated "The Company anticipates that reduced powertrain production could result in temporary layoffs for up to 500 of it's approximately 1,500 production and distribution employees insoutheast Wisconsin."

This is an unfortunate situation for all of us. These employees, dispite some of what you say, build pride and quality into each bike assembled and would like to be recognized for that. When a Company makes several press releases in the last few year of record margins, these people are claiming to be losing benefits.
Problems with reliablity or other issues like that are not these peoples doings. These are hard working men and women who have assembled the best motorcycles given to them for years.
Please don't make inaccurate quotes that can only endager the jobs or ability to get back to work soon.

A good friend and fellow harley rider has had stock in the company for years. He says he feels the reason stock has dropped is due to the flood of bikes being sold. He says he used to be able to buy a bike, keep it clean and maintained, ride it for a few years and sell it for what it cost him. Can't do that anymore. Guess its the old 'supply and demand' thing

Alot of dealers feel the same way. Increased inventory and the flood of new bikes has killed the used bike market and promoted depretiation.
