When the strike ends and the York plant resumes production, management will be under pressure to get more production out of the workers. The workers will probably be working overtime in an effort to satisfy management andfill dealer quotas. I don't get it...I have been checking in with the "York-Dispatch", every 1-2 days to get a feel locally with what's goin on at the plant and yeterday's "Dispatch" said that the 2 sides were going to meet with a negotiator this week in a positive sign....hard to know what's real right now....Joe Mac
This is like any other form of negotiation - if you can get the other side to blink first, you win. Consequently, they'll try just about anything to shake up the other side - and don't be surprised to find out later that something one side said was patently false, said only to either a) garner public support or b)to confound the other side.
When it comes to something like this, it's not really about "labor" and "management" - it's business. Whoever can hold out the longest or come up with the smallest fine print in an agreement can win. I've seen it work both ways - sometimes the company wins, sometimes the union wins, but either way *normally* the consumer AND employee are the ones that lose.
