I never buy extended plans on anything except...

My last 2 HDs I've purchased the ESP after the 2-year factory.
Both bike$ $pun crank$ after the factory warranty e$x$pired. I don't need to list the part$ from crank$, bearing$, oil pump$, pi$ton$, cylinder$, labor, et$c.
I won't bother to list here the other items that have been covered with the ESP. After the first time, I just consider it part of owning a (newer) HD.

As others have noted, it's nice when I do have to take the bike in for something for which I don't have the equipment to fix,
I ask them to check for anything else that needs attention... fuel pump, compensator, alternator/stator, HK radio, etc. etc. covered...
For both bikes, the ESP has paid for itself at least 4 times over.
Oh, and the wheel/tire coverage is great also.

I realize it's a gamble -- it's paid off for me. And I'll continue to take the coverage until it doesn't pay. YMMV.

Bought the bike from a dealer and they strongly recommend the purchase (naturally) due to the amount of options and electronics on the bike. $1400 for 5 added years. Pros? Cons? Waste? I am inclined to buy it for the peace of mind. I have until Monday to decide. Thanks in advance. Guido
I know when I bought mine I took it because it saved me almost 1.5% with Harley Finance so it really only cost me around 500 bucks.
