Default ids pulley

are all the ids pulleys the same? I put an ids on my 07, could I put one on from an 011. I know the wheels are wider, and the bowls are part of the rim itself, but are the pulleys themselves the same? I was told the later models had a different ratio (66/68).

No you can't change the ids from a 09 up with 08 down. They do not connect the same way. You can however put a 68 tooth ids on from I believe a sporty Japan model

Not to say one of these pullies couldn't be modified to mount on an earlier bike by someone but "why" would be my first question. Notice in the pics that the pulley has no through bolts for mounting. It only sets in the "bowl" totally isolated in rubber, thus the name "cushdrive". It stays centered on the axle spinning on its own bearing. Because the '09up IDS is an integral unit with the rear wheel itself it can only be adapted by changing out the whole assembly (tire/wheel/pulley). It would also be necessary to modify/widen the swingarm to fit an '09up axle. Click the link below if you want to see how it can be done. Not a simple parts swap but not that difficult either. It was a fun winter project for me.
