Hello, I am wanting to remove the passenger intercom plug, spring and wiring off my Ultra Limited. I will never use the plug and would like to just get rid of it. I followed the wire and it runs up under the tank. Does anyone know if there is a disconnect under the tank? I'm not going to cut any wire since I will re-install if I sell the bike.
Remove the spring, take the plug and wiring from the bracket and wire-tie it to the frame or bracket out of the way.
I did this on my '12 until we went on a ride & needed the intercom system. Wasn't hard to put back in use.
I'm still interested to find out where the headset plug disconnects. I'm guessing under for tank or inside the fairing. Thanks
With the Factory Intercom, there is not a separate plug just for the passenger intercom. The wires run up into the fairing and are part of the 35 pin radio plug. The only way to remove it is to cut the wires or take the plugs out of the radio plug. Best bet is to just stow the harness.
I got tired of dealing with it every time I removed the seat to hook the Tour-Pak back up, so I cut it off and tossed it. I know there are some people out there that use the intercom, but I don't know any personally.
