It's pretty good considering the price. I can hear it at 70 mph. Not much bass

 

will a fairing bra fit the xs model?

 

In a previous lifetime(before HD) I owned a Kawasaki Nomad and installed a Reckless Fairing.Bought the one that had cut outs for 6x9 speakers . Then installed RF speakers,RF amp and Sony deck that stored my IPOD inside. With paint I had about $800 invested and the sound was amazing. Have all the model #s somewhere but the 6x9 speakers were the key.

 

No, a hd bra won't fit. Called northern Michigan leather prices starts at 365.00 and I would have to ship the outer shell to them

 

So that's with the lower powered audio system?

Did you paint it or just mount with the black gel coat?

 

It has an amp and a set of 6.5" speakers. I did not paint. I just mounted it with the black gel coat. It matches my bike

 

I bought the empty fairing with the 2, 5 1/4 speaker cutouts. I am in the process of wiring it up. I am putting the Fosgate Amp in there. I have a Vivid black bike and it matches pretty close. I will be painting the entire bike next year.

I am happy with the quality of the fairing so once I get it all wired up we will see how it sounds.

 

Any update on the Reckless XS from those who were considering one or building one?

That looks like a good deal. The one thing I have noticed about many of the add-on batwings is they rattle and vibrate alot. Make sure the mounts are decent or it may be irritating to you.

 

I emailed Reckless (11 Jan '14) asking about the factory HD fairing bra and they said it will fit. Did you try and and have issues? Just curious, I am planning on ordering the the xs with the upgrade to the RF amp and polk speakers. Thanks.
