Hi I have a 90 Ultra classic, any idea if I would be able to go with any taller bars without have to get longer cables and such? Maybe a inch or two taller then stock. thanks in advance
Dont be timid. Get the bars you need, and if you need cables get them. I see a lot of guys deciding on their bars by what they can get without changing cables, and I wonder if they end up with shorter bars than they would otherwise find comfortable, and cables at the same time that are too tight.
Ya i understand that, im doing it more for looks but $ is a issue.
Sure thing, I do understand. I guess I see the "do I need new cables" question a lot and it makes me wonder.
I will say if you are going to a slightly taller bar I'm not sure how different it will look especially for the money spent, unless you are changing to a radically different type of bar, but likely that could require cables as well.
I put +2 Sweepers on from Khrome Werks without changing anything at all. Bars are about $75. I did them myself if you count miscellaneous materials like wire lube and electrical tape I still have less then $100 in the whole thing.
ergo ups need no cable change, but if your doing it for "looks" you'll likely be disappointed as 2 inches doesn't look different,it will feel different.
