Well you know one thing with 40k on it. It ain't no garage queen. But I really don't know what you would be gaining. What is it you think you need about it?

..totally agree...anytime you get a new bike, you tend to ride it a lot more at first...so you'll be looking at 50,000 miles in no time...what's that bike worth then?...and since 09 there hasn't been any MAJOR upgrade....me thinks something big will pop in the next year or 2 that you will wish you held out for...

I would stick with yours for now. You still have lots of life in yours. I have 70k and still going strong. That new frame sure is nice though! BTW you are not the same Justin Collins I knew in the Navy are you? STG?

I'd keep what you have until 2015 unless you are dying to get a new bike. The switch to the new frame bike is tempting, but at 40K I'd wait. From everything floating around it sounds like 2015 may have some interesting bikes pop up.

That is just what I would do.

NO not with that many miles on a 09. Look around there are MORE choices.

I have ab '05 RG, w 90+k..... except for ABS.... there isn't any reason for me to swap....
I can do just about anything I'd like to my bike.... and keep the extra cash

but.... it ain't about ME.... it's about YOU.....do what seems best to you.

I had a 05 Road Glide (yellow pearl) lotta chrome and engine work, sweet ride traded for a new 09 Electra glide classic, rode it for 11 months(15,000 miles) and traded back to a 2011 Road glide Ultra. It is always about preference instead of opinions, by the way the new frame, tires and brakes are a great upgrade. While 40,000 on the 09 seems like alot, my 2011 has over 30,000 and still runs like new with plenty of engine and suspension upgrades. Good luck with your quest.
