what year? you can buy the tools needed for about 35 from home depot and it takes 10 min to do.
Just get a hole saw and cut out the baffles. I did it to mine and I'm happy with the sound. Didn't cost me anything but some time. About 15 min for both and the sound is much better than stock IMHO
look in the end of your pipes you will see a little baffle thats pinched off about 8 inches down, if you still have a cat get a hole saw that will remove the entire baffle, if you have removed the cat then get the next smaller hole saw and drill out the narrow part of the baffle which will just remove the pinched off piece. I have a 2012 street glide no cat, modded mufflers, S/E cold air, and fl xeids. This set up transformed my glide! no heat, great sound, pulls very strong from idle to 5800, and i lost maybe 2 mpg! i love the look of the new style mufflers and im glad i was able to keep them. There is no reason to spend money on a tuner with this set up! my friends with similar set ups and tuners fail to out perform my bike and all of them have givin up 4 to 5 mpg. the choice is yours! oh and by the way buy the fl xeids used, there available for about 60 bucks in the classified section from people who have installed cams and other mods requiring a tuner.
Check you this guys videos on YouTube. I believe ther are 4 videos in total of the baffle being removed from the stock mufflers on his 2013 street glide.
This is kind of new to me. I like the look of the stock mufflers on my SG so I went to Superflowmufflers.com and they put a new baffle in to make them sound beefier. This was a pretty cheap fix at $150 also. Love the sound now.
