Nice job. I was thinking the same thing about a chrome inner primary. My other though is did ya consider a belt primary drive/dry clutch since you had it all apart anyway?

you'll lose the compensator assembly if you go belt....what the comp does is to buffer the hit of the engine...when youre puttin, a belt will be less smooth

Does the DD6 give you the same ratios as the 2007 harley 6-speed? I notice you have to change the drive sprocket, which probably means that the DD6 is direct drive in 6th instead of an overdrive. I prefer the direct drive. Nice job. I'll be doing the same within a year.

You should put the Harley auto adjust primary chain tensioner in there in the primary while you're at it. It makes for smoother shifting by keep slack out of the chain and you don't have to adjust it. Very easy to install.

Nope. Been tossing too much $$$ around as it is. Those setups are pricey.

It is a direct drive tranny. First gear is 3.24 ratio with 6th being a 1:1. When cheanging the engine sprocket it is equivelant to a .86 OD.

I thought about the auto tensioner but don't mind wrenching on my bike. Lets me know what is happening down there.

LOL, except for the tranny still being in there.

Don't worry, other than cams and heads, the rest of it is in the house.

Welcome to the club. I really noticed a difference in how smooth and easy it shifts,at firstI would prematurely hit the next upshift because unconsciencely my foot would start applying pressureto the shifter in anticipation of the nextshift. But to really appreciate it, I've driven a few standard 5 spds once and awhile, feels like they are using sand for lubrication. Great satisfaction and pride when doing it yourself, have fun.

Thanks guys. I have never messed with a tranny before. I would say this would be a 8 with a 10 being the most difficult. Nothing was really too hard to do, just time consuming and paying attention to detail. It does feel good to say that I installed it. More appreciation that way.
