I just purchased the Comm II's last week and I like the tires below 80 MPH. The bike starts to wobble at 80+. To be fair, I havent had the time to do further investigation in to the circumstances of the wobble. All I know is that prior to the new tires being installed by a local metric dealer, the bike felt very stable at 90+. I am hoping it is something as simple as adjusting the tire pressure or ensuring the rear wheel is correctly alligned. Below 80, the bike feels very good in corners and tracks a lot better than the old tires over road snakes. I also felt that the bike holds its line in a lane, not being affected as much by imperfections in the road.

I have been running front and rear Commander 2's and at the first they felt "tippy" and seemed like they would not hold a line but after a couple hundred miles and fiddling with the air pressures I really like them a lot. They are quiet as hell, do not follow road irregularities and on bridge grates they are amazingly different than the Dunlops. I purposely went riding in therain to see how thay did and I was very happy. Overall I would say they are a superior tire in my opinion than the Dunlops. Time will tell how they hold up and how many miles I get out of them.

This is the reply i got from Michelin. I didn't know the Commanders weren't radials:

We offer a 130/70B18 63H and a 180/65B16 81H in our Commander II line. Both of these tires are not radial construction. We recommend you contact Harley Davidson to see if these sizes and construction are acceptable fitments for your Street Glide.

Your stock Dunlops aren't radials either.

We just test fitted the Commander II in a 120/70/21 and a 200/55/17 on our shop Street Glide. Normally we run a Metzeler ME880 120/70/21 (bias ply) and an ME880 200/50/17 (radial) on our baggers. These are both bias. The 55 may sit a tiny bit higher than the 50 Metzeler but it was not enough for any of us to notice a difference. So, all we need to do now is get some miles on these ComII's and see how they last. Personally, I ran these on my Dyna and loved them. I got Metzeler's when I got the new rims as the ComII's were not available in the sizes I needed them.

The Michelin's are a bit less expensive than the Metzeler's as well. Who is going to get some on their bagger with a 21 17 setup and report on mileage?

you have any ill effects from mixing the Bias ply front and radial rear. I had always heard not to mix them but some of the Vmax guys do and they dont seem to have a problem. just curious and a little off topic.
let me know what ya think of the Commanders if you get a chance.

We have never had an issue with this kind of mix.
