I noticed that neither of you are running fork deflectors with this shield. Are you not experiencing any wind from under it? What about compared to the stock shield before you replaced it?
Thanks in advance!
I don't run mine with the fork deflectors but the KW shield did help reduce buffeting. I do run the deflector between the forks. There is some air coming up from the sides of the tank, doesn't seem to be as much as the stock shield. I would think the fork deflectors would eliminate most of it.
My brother in law is ordering a KW Billboard Flare for his Road King in the next few days. He runs the fork deflectors on his bike. Soon I will be able to get his opinion on the shield with the fork deflectors.

Sure, I still experience wind but it is "clean" wind. The buffeting is gone and I can see over the shield - not through it like the stock shield.
Most Harley dealers / KW distributors have these shields on display and will let you try them out before you buy them. That is what I did (then I bought it new on ebay for quite a bit less than they were asking).
The tall Billboard flare reduces buffeting well on my 2000 flhpi. Has more protection than a Memphis Shades batwing with a 12" shield. The Billboard kept more wind off my hands. If someone wants to try a MS let me know.
I'm interested to find out from someone with HD style batwing how it compares from a wind protection standpoint. Need to compare the same equivlient heights to one another. The Freedom shields windshield on a batwing should be the ultimate, unless the Billboard is just that good.
Wow! A friend has been bugging me for months to take a windshield off his hands for free. I finally told him ok. He brings me a tinted Klockwerks billboard flare still in the box with protective film still on the shield. Only problem, it was for a softail. The hardware from my stock RK shield fit it pertectly but I had to cut it so it would fit over my headlight. Looks awesome and can't wait to try it out tomorrow.
I've been very happy with LRS, but I was always curious about the Klockwerks one. I'd love to see an honest, unbaised comparison of all the different versions out there!
