I have read a bunch of the threads on fork oil change
I have an 02 road King without air
I have replaced the sliders on several street glides which required total drainage and tear down
Have not had these forks apart yet and wondering if there is a quick way to change the oil without removing the forks and tearing them down
Several threads say u can pour oil in from the top, the other forks i have torn down do not have any type of opening in the fork cap to pour oil into from the top
I believe a RK takes 11 ounces however the easiest way to measure is to set the height of the oil with a graduated sucker like the one made by Motion Pro.
You just need to get the fork cap off, pour the oil out, and add new stuff. There are many ways of doing this (forks on bike, forks off bike), so it is up to you how you want to go about it.
I personally find it easier and less stressful to jack the bike up and pull the fork tubes rather than try to deal with it on the bike.
