It's called rumors for a reason. A dealer is hardly a creditable source and I personally know a salesman will say just about anything to move bikes especially in the winter.

Dropping these models has a lot to do with standardizing parts for rapid assembly, thereby reducing completed inventory. It is part of Harley's new managemant scheme to make bikes efficiently and to demand. Specialty stuff does not fit into a lean manufacturers world. Lean is how a bean counter ekes out every last penny out of every step. Quality also suffers, but this is as much Wall Street driven as it is practical inhouse savings. Look for changes in Mother Harley and your dealers. Look to aftermarket for innovation and quality parts.
They may be replacing it with a Super Classic or some other improved Custom model. Models get discontinued every now and then, just as new ones are introduced. Look on the bright side, at the prospect of something really exciting.....
I went to the dealer yesterday and was looking the cvo FLHR and teh dealer said tehy are no longer going to carry the roadking classic...so I guess I will be keeping my 11 FLHRC fo-eva...
That's good news to me. I plan to keep mine forever and the less of the same model bike I have on the road the better. As for trade in value...what's that? I'm gonna drop a new motor in her if she ever needs one.
Loc_Tite,
If thats your bike in your sig, thats one of the sickest road kings I have ever seen. Very nicely done!
