any experience with cyco shoes? I know they ar less expensive but will they last longer which in the long run is more important than saving a few bucks on the cost. Is there info available to prove the material is superior to stock shoes? I know longevity is an arbitrary question as mileage seems to vary considerably from bike to bike. My bike has the older spring tension shoes. need to replace shoes but cannot afford the new hydraulic set up right now
Thanks
If you google them, you'll find various threads on other forums. Everyone seems to have hopes, but darned if I could find any longish term evaluations of them. Pretty much everything was "I got them, installed them ok".
Various arguments on plastic hardness vs spring tension, all contradictory.
Double confusing to me as cyco claims a different plastic than oem, which is white (delrin?) on the close up, with a milled surface, but invariably oem yellow without a milled surface on everything else they show. Don't know what it actually is.
And then there's the ebay shoes and kits. Looks exactly like Cyco, but the seller names are different.
I checked my shoes this winter, and while worn, they were ok. I'll probably go this replacement shoe approach come next winter.
