I personally think Harley's quality has gone down the crapper. When I was fixing up my Heritage about 4 years ago, HD quality was top notch and I got burned buying some ebay chrome.
I just paid over $100 for my Willie G hand grips, and they are plastic!!! I couldn't believe it!!!! Felt like Junk!! (the chrome part is plastic and cheap feeling)
My wife got me some chrome levers from HD for Christmas. I think she paid $130ish.... I took them out of the plastic case, and they were plastic feeling too!!!!! I just knew they would be heavy and solid - NOPE!!!!! We took them back, and ordered some off ebay for $30, and they felt the exact same!!
One thing I LOVE about buying HD parts is they fit!!!! Bolt right up every time. No prying, bending, grinding, or drilling. And a few years ago, I would have complimented their quality too. I am not so sure now. Just the last 6 months has made wonder happened.....
I guess what I am trying to say in 10 pages or less - yeah, give them a shot :-)
They mis-represent them as "billet" -I wouldn't buy them just for that fact. They are a big job to change,I'd only want to do that job once. I bought used factory ones for my softail.
The Kuryakyn covers suck a$$. Don't know about the full housings. But, the covers are complete junk. Don't fit properly, very poor finnish, and rattle to beat h3ll. JUNK.
However, when comparing $30 to $150 it might be worth the chance. Besides, if the $30 ones last 2 years and go to hell I could buy 4 more sets compared to the HD ones.
Not me! I'd rather spend the time riding for years to come, unless someone is paying me to change their broken cheap chit again and again. As per Kuryakin, their not all what theyre cracked up to be either on a lot of their products.
A couple of comments that struck me is that the HD fits and is well made. I subscribe to this and the change out of the switch housings was a PITA! I have HD stuff on my bike, mostly.
However, I do have Kuryakyn ISO highway pegs and they are excellent!

You could always buy a used set from someone...I just so happened to have a set w/o Cruise. Left side is brand new, right side is mint. I installed cruise
From what I'm reading here:e-bay chrome parts suck,Kuryakyn parts piece of junk,HD parts cheap POS.Any idea where I can get decent parts short of making them myself? Thanks
Kuryakyn parts are not junk to me. If y'all complain about switch housings damn, next time get Rolls Royce to hand make y'all some parts next time jeesh! Switch housings are just what they are, switch housings!!!!!
