Default eabest seat for touring

since the last post went so well here is another.

I have a FLHRCI 2006 and touring on it really hurts my *** and my wifes. Is there a touring seat that anyone would recommend over another. I am 5'9" and anything longer than 30 minutes and i can't take it. So i was looking at Harley's Comfort stitch and sundowner. Not sure if one is better than the other or are both crap. It looks as though the comfort stitch is very comfortable but there is no way i can check it out, if i order it I own it. Or maybe another brand is better.

One more thing and the handlebars i would like to change also and was thinking about the bars that come on FLHRS custom and didn't know if i can just change them without getting longer cables or handlebar risers. Or maybe there are another bar that is better than the standard.

Don't get me wrong i love my Harley just want to make it more enjoyable.

anyone else have the same problem?

Stock handlebars are fine with me but I did changed the seat. First I tryed a Sundowner which was a improvement althrough the rearpassenger portion on the Sundowner was not as wide as the stock seat. I had a Mustang seat on the 05 Road King Custom I use to have and liked it so I ordered the once piece touring seat for this bike and like it. You must remember that whatworks for one is not so good for another cause the ole butts are not made the same.

I have the HD Sundowner w/rider and passenger backrests on mine and I like the seat a lot, 500 mile trips not a problem for me anymore, can't speak for the significant other because she doesn't do the long trips with me she is more of a 100 mile or less passenger but she is fine with the seat for those distances. As far as handlebars I haven't done anything yet but am leaning towards a set of Heritage bars for my King I've been told my many that is a good choice.

I have the comfort stitch on my 06 street glide My fiance and i put 9000 miles on it last year with no problems. She likes the width of the rear portion of the seat. plenty of room for her to move around and get comfortable. i like the depth of the front portion. with her behind me and the depth of the seat i feel like i have the back rest. I never have ridden the bike with the stock seat nor do i want to.

The comfort stitch is the stock seat on the Electra Glide. On trips thats the one I use with badx's seat mod, can't beat it.

My vote is a Corbin. I've had them on my last three bikes and swear by them. Their pricey but when you butt hurts you can't pay enough to make it stop!

I agree 100%, Corbin's are the best(I have had 4 of them). I did run a Mustang for a while, but it went on ebay after switching to a Corbin.

I am using the Mustang solo and add the wide passenger pillon when going two-up. I had the Sundowner and found it very comfortable, but it moved me closer to the tank than the stock seat. I am 5'11" and felt just a little cramped on the Sundowner. The Mustang seems to position me at about the same place as the stock seat. The Mustang seems slightly firmer than the Sundowner, but they are both very comfortable on long rides.

I also use the Wild One 508 handlebars which are about the same width as the stock bars but have about four inches more pullback, and thus let you sit much more upright. They took some getting used to, but now that I have had them for a few months, I really like them. The brake, throttle, and idle cables needed to be replaced with longer ones; we chose +2" HD braided stainless. The clutch cable was of sufficient length, but we also replaced it with braided stainless. Here are a few pics:
