2 year old thread, but this is from the Vindikta site today about the trimming:
Please note: The Bagger bars will require the slightest of modifications to properly mount onto the Street/Ultra Glides. This modification is a light sanding of 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch off the outside top corner of the bottom fairing cover. The modification is not noticeable when the bars are mounted. It is the only modification required, due to the larger 1.5" diameter tubing. If you want to run the larger diameter tubing on these models, it cannot be avoided.
The fairing modification for the installation of the Bagger bars on a Street Glide consists of rounding off approximately 1/16" to 1/8" of the corner. The part is ABS plastic so there are no issues with painting. If you have one of the few models with the painted lower cover, then small dab of touch up paint may be required. When installed, this corner is tucked up and under the fairing, out of sight. We want to be perfectly clear of what needs to be done to install these bars.
