Anything over 500. lift, needs more compression. Low end will suffer. HQ-0034 is a awsome bolt in cam.

If you want to keep the engine at 88 inches, try the SE-204 cam, with the newer trpe of
hydraulic cam tensioner, and a little higher compression.
SE part # 25464-06 - 204 cam
SE part # 25284-11 - Hydraulic upgrade kit
Se part # 22864-00 - High compression forged piston { 9.6:1 with stock bore & heads }

I agree, I went with the SE 204 cams, they were the best cams I have tried yet.

If you want to do it right add the head work. I did this together with a BigBore and the Andrews 48H cam and I got almost 50% more hp and 40% more tq.

Default thanks for all the imput

Now my question is gear drive or hydraulic plate? I am more for the gear drive but worry about buying parts and finding to much run out. How often does to much run out happen? And is gear drive harder on the motor due to lack of forgivness?

pumba,Had an issue with tensioners had to replace them so went to an s/s 97" piston/jug kit...had T-man do his head magic with his 625 cam....some other goodies gets me 105/109 with rinehart true duals and sert.....still get 40/45 mpg and pulls like a freight train to redline.
