Air shocks are the worst design possible for shocks. Talk to Howard at Moto Metal and he'll give you a 30 min disortation on how bad the design is. I was going to order a set of Ohlins but couldn't get over the expense. Read a lot of positive comments about the SE shocks and decided to go with those for my Street Glide. Got them for about half the price of the Ohlins. I can't say how the SE shocks compare to the expensive Ohlins but i'm very happy with them. They are leaps and bounds better than the stock air shocks. Just for weight comparison - I'm at 180 lbs and my wife is 100 lbs. I leave the shocks set for two-up riding, which is a little on the stiff side for solo but very comfortable when the wife rides. Unless you are lazy [like me] it takes all of about 2 minutes to change the setting.

I'm in the same weight range as you. I got the Ohlins 916E from Howard for my 08 Classic. He put a heavier spring on them which was too harsh. After some back and forth with Ohlins, I switched to the original spring that comes with the shock. In the end, the improvement was significant. I changed to SE (Standard, not HD) oil up front.

I just recently changed the rear shocks on my 2001 RKC. I chose Progressive 412 as I didnt like the oem air shocks (this is my 2nd RK). I have no complaints so far and I've used them on my other harleys. Like everything else...ppl have good and bad experiences with them, As for me I've had goodluck with the 412s. This time around I went with the heavy duty springs and 12" (the stock was 13") as our 2 up weight is 330lbs combined . Too early to tell, but I'm liking the test rides so far.
