Was looking at on another thread on this topic where people were using shoelaces and such to individually clean each spoke.
While I haven't done it yet my plan is when the wheels get dirtier then I can clean with a soft brush and car soap water I will spray then with Simple Green diluted to 50%, soft brush them and spray them off with my pressure washer on low pressure (avoiding bearings of course) to get all the somewhat caustic SG off. Repeat as needed to get them clean/shiny.
the hardest thing to clean isn't the spokes it's the middle of the hub. you need a good brush to get in there.
I agree and for that area I use a microfiber cloth while I have the bike on a lift and it's pretty easy. Use a cloth once (one wheel) and then put it in the wash.
toilet bowl brush, one with the soft bendable wire holding the bristles,it is long enough to go all the way around without rollin the bike up and down the driveway and the wire head will let u bend it to get into the center hub.
