John,

Was in York a few days ago! As I indicate above, I am a happy customer of Howard's. I bought Ohlins before he introduced JRIs. I strongly recommend you phone Howard. The time will be well worthwhile, I can assure you. You will learn stuff you didn't know before you start talking!

As an example, I was attracted to one of the #2 versions. Talking through things with Howard I learned that although the #3 range in some cases have less travel than the #2s, they have superior damping, so give a better quality ride. Howard will ask you questions, explain choices and, if you buy them, you will get a set of shocks that probably exceed your expectations.

Mrs B and I have crossed Europe on our bike, before and after Ohlins, to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, etc. The improvement is quite remarkable. If you are considering shocks from Howard, simply pick up the phone! Even if you decide not to go ahead, you will still benefit from the experience IMHO.

Cheers, I think will be calling Howard before I make the decision, just gathering information so I'm clear about what I'm asking!
