Harley Gauges
Plug and play for everything except miles. Can't be reset.
How far off is the mileage? If the mileage is more on the "new" gauge, just run your old one until they match, then change it out. If it's the other way around (lower miles on the new gauge), there's nothing you can do, other than order a new one and have the factory set the miles.

1st, does your bike have ABS? Does the first bike have ABS? The gauge is the same either way, but once the gauge has been hooked up to an ABS bike it trips the light in the gauge and it can't be un-tripped. So if ABS gauges go on a non-ABS bike, the light will always remain on telling you there is a problem with your ABS.
If first bike doesn't have ABS all is good.
If your bike has ABS all is good.
If first bike had it and yours doesn't, that is a problem.
2nd, on '09's (mine) I know the odometer memory on the gauge remains. So if the previous guy had 10,252, then once installed on your bike yours will have 10,252 and will go on from there.
I have heard though that on newer models (maybe '10's?) that the memory is kept on the bikes computer, and within a few starts it will correct the new odometer to show the actual mileage on your bike. If I can find a confirmation on that I will share it.

I heard the same thing.... but it's not true..... I changed my gauges (2011) and the odometer didn't reset.
Mine's off by 1165 miles. When I hook the bike up to the digital technician it reads one thing for the ECM, and 1165 miles less on the speedometer.
