If I install my Vance Hines dresser duals with my stock mufflers and stock intake on my 2012 FLHRC, can I run like this without a tune until if figure out what slip ons I want?
Your stock mufflers are different (left/right)to go along with stock header 2-1-2
Changing to "True Duals" 2-2 header would require matched mufflers No??
With each cylinder being independent, I wouldn't put two different muffs on.
I could be wrong but look inside your stock muffs...they are not the same.
With the proper muff on a 2-2 header and STOCK AC you "may" be able to allow the ecm to make its own small adjustment to the tune but I'm not sure of that as I had already done a stage 1 before I added the true duals on mine.
Should be fine. I see nothing in the "12 service manual to suggest the mufflers are any different so going from a 2-1-2 to a 2-2 should not be a problem. If it were me though, I would wait and do it all at once. it will save you some time and money. You will need to replace the muffler clamps each time you remove them as they are a one time use item. Once they are tightened they should not be used again. While I have done so on occasion and got away with it, on others I have not and wound up with an exhaust leak.
