Are you still able to use the stock pushrod tubes with the adjustables or do I need to purchase different tubes with the rods?
Stock tubes are fine.

And after reading about people's locknuts coming loose, maybe cutting the ez rods out wasn't so bad after all. Beats rebuilding a motor.

Don't know of any part that has never failed, but the adjustable pushrods are as reliable as anyother parts in your motor.

IMHO:
The odds of a top end leak after a cam install without adjustable pushrods are10 fold greater than the odds of anadjustablepushrods failure.

I'll agree with that....

Even when using the stock gaskets?

He's talking about rockerbox gaskets, not head gaskets.

In reality, there are way more things to go wrong when you take off the rocker boxes vs. just cutting out the stock rods. You are disassembling more things, replacing more gaskets, and will need to do a little more technical work to put the rocker arms back in correctly. Even though I had my adjustable mishap, I would still go with adjustables for a cam swap over pulling the rocker boxes. I have done both. The adjustables are far easier.

Very easy job. Directions are easy to follow. I put a set on my 2001 RKC when I installed new cam chain tensioners.
